Gargasamhitā 6.12: If Uśanas is seen in both the East and the West, passing elsewhere, it destroys creatures on earth.
Enūma Anu Enlil, VAT 10218, 95: If Venus at dawn rises in the East, at nightfall in the West, son will shout angrily at his father, mother will bar her door to her daughter, the harvest of the land will perish.
