Text
Syriac Book of Medicines, fol. 260a:
Concerning the stars which have tails, the names of which are as follows: Qarithā, Būbhā, and Lakĕthā. Now, the operations of these is like unto the nature of the airs. And they cause wars, and bitter envy, and other things like this; and this we know from the signs of the Zodiac wherein they are, and from the quarter of the heavens to which the tail is directed. For when they are in the east, and their appearance lasts for a long time, that which is to happen happens quickly; and when they are in the west, that which is to happen happens after some delay.
