Text
Syriac Book of Medicines, fol. 260a:
Portents derived from these (stars). The star with a tail portends famine and pestilence. The star with a (tail similar to a) spear portends wars and strifes. The star with a (tail similar to a) beard portends a change of kingdoms and the downfall of the Government. And know that in that quarter of the earth to which the tail of the star is directed there will be anger, and that which is to be will be.
