Text
There are some bronze figurines from Samos (Greece) which could have been of Babylonian origin. The most distinctive are figures of a standing bearded man with a dog sitting at his left side (three in total from Samos). In Mesopotamia, such statuettes have been found in Nippur, Isin and Susa and seemed to have had an apotropaic function.
