Text
Lugale 261-263: The enemy (= the army of stones) rose up, crying to wife and child, You did not lift your arms in prayer to Lord Ninurta. The weapon covered the Mountains with dust, but did not shake the heart of the Asag.
Aphrahat, Hymns on Nativity 24.19: Since the scribes were silent through envy and the Pharisees through jealousy (Luke 19:40), men of stone cried praises, [men] with a heart of stone. They sang praises before the Stone, the Rejected, which became the head; through the Stone, stones were softened, and acquired mouths that speak. Stones cried out by means of Stone; Blessed be thy birth, which made stones cry out!
Ezekiel 36:26: (God says to Ezekiel:) I shall give you a new heart, and I shall put a new spirit within you. I shall remove the heart of stone from within you flesh, and give you a heart of flesh.
