Don’t the gods prophecy the same things about this world? “Do not stoop below into the dark-gleaming world beneath which an abyss is spread, forever formless and invisible, dark all around, foul, delighting in images, without reason, precipitous, twisted, forever revolving around its maimed depth, forever wedded to an invisible shape, idle, without breath.”
