The distributive use of the Greek preposition ana in conjunction with numbers, e.g. ana dyo, two each, is removed from the original meaning of this preposition, upwards, but corresponds exactly to the Akkadian preposition ana. This is probably a kind of Syrian business slang, similar to the French à used in a similar sense in German accounting.
