Diagnostic Handbook (Akkadian) 31.12: If ditto (= sun-heat has overheated him) and he is now hot and now chilled, he has an infection but has no (outbreak of) sweat, that man will be ill for one month.
Hippocratic Corpus, Epidemics 2.41: If, on the seventh day, chills seize this person, together with a violent fever, and he breaks out in a sweat, fine; if not, he dies on the seventh or ninth day.
