Shafta ḏ Pishra ḏ Ainia 9: In the Mandaic magical text The scroll of the annihilation of the Eyes, there occurs an expression aina zruqtia, which, according to the Mandean priests themselves refers to eye that glances to and fro. Since Mandean incantantations clearly preserve the terminology of Babylonian sorcery, it is certain that zruqtia derives from Babylonian zarāqu to be cross-eyed from which zāriqu means the squint-eyed. The Mandaic aina zruqtia so corresponds to the Babylonian expression ênāšu zarriqa his eyes squint.
