Text
The Mandean Book of the Zodiac preserves some Mesopotamian lunar omens by means of a direct transmission.

Iqqur īpuš 69.7-10:
7. If in Ulūlu (a lunar eclipse occurs): there will be a rebellion against the king.
8. If in Tašrītu: Downfall of an army …
10. If in Kislīmu: Rains will diminish the land.

Sfar Malwašia 212-213 (Drower):
If the moon is eclipsed in Ellul, … the king will have war in his realm, will be killed by treachery, and his city will be taken by the sword.
If the moon is eclipsed in Tišrin, there will be war in the cities and destruction, …
If the moon is eclipsed in Kanun, there will be heavy rains and calamities and turmoil in Fars.
