Some astronomical diaries record a Parthian campaign in 77 BCE against Kamnascires, the king of Elymais, with the mention of a royal ancestral cult performed by the Iranian Artavanta: “ … Artavanta, who instead of the dean of the Esagil temple and the Babylonians [made] an offering of two bulls and two sheep … “
