Summary
The stereotyped formulae in the Sogdian Ancient Letters show Ancient Near Eastern features.

Text
Sogdian Ancient Letters:
To the lord (and) master NN, one thousand (and) ten thousand greetings/blessings (and) homage on bended knee, just as is offered to the gods. Sent by his servant NN. And (it would be) a good day for him who might see you healthy, happy, not ill, with everybody. And, sir, when I hear of your health, then I consider myself immortal. And for us that day (would be even) better when we ourselves might see you healthy (and) easy and pay homage to you at (your) feet, as to the gods.
