Text
Zeus = Adad.
pseudo-Lucian, De Dea Syria 31: In the interior, the temple is not a single unit, for a second chamber has been made in it. The entry ramp to it is also short. It is not furnished with doors, but on the front it is completely open. All enter the large part of the temple, but into the chamber only priests go, and not even all the priests, but only those who are particularly close to the gods and to whom the overall service of the temple is entrusted. In this chamber are set statues of the gods. One is Hera and the other is Zeus, whom, however, they call by another name. Both are of gold and both are seated, but lions support Hera, while the god sits on bulls.
