Jacob of Edessa, Hexaemeron:
First everything was darkness and waters before there were gods and men, and the spirit hovered over the waters and created these seven (planets) Then he made to them heaven and earth and the signs of zodiac … And it made Bel first and after him Marud as lords of the gods.
