According to the Greek philosopher Chaeremon the Chaldean wisdom is older than Egyptian.

Chaeremon (FGrH 618.F.7):
The Chaldeans present themselves as the teachers of the Egyptians, whereas the Egyptians boast that it was the Chaldeans who became their disciples … I found that the wisdom of the Chaldeans is older than the one zealously practiced among the Egyptians.
