Text
Pliny the Elder, Naturalia Historia 6.30:
Babylon, which is the capital of the Chaldean races, once held an outstanding celebrity among the cities of the whole of the world, and in consequence of this the remaining part of Mesopotamia and Assyria has received the name of Babylonia. It has two walls with a circuit of 60 miles, each wall being 200 ft. high and 50 ft. wide (the Assyrian foot measures 3 inches more than ours).
